History of Church:

Shortly after a revival in the newly born Town of Goodwell a little group organized a Methodist Church on February 7, 1904. From these humble beginnings arose what is now Panhandle Centenary United Methodist Church. This congregation first met in a dugout, then in a one room school and in "The Little Red Church" before construction of the present facility in 1924. Through the years members have worked to maintain the facility, the latest improvement being a remodeling of the sanctuary, Groom's Chapel and the pastor's office with new carpeting in each of these areas.

We invite you to worship with us at Panhandle Centenary United Methodist Church.  Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with the morning worship beginning at 10:45 a.m.  An active United Methodist Women's group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the parlor.  A United Methodist Men's group meets the first Saturday of each month at 7:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  The church choir practices each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary and the United Methodist Youth group also meets at 8:00 p.m. in the parlor.  We would love to have you worship with us and become a part of our family at Panhandle Centenary United Methodist Church where our hearts, minds and doors are always open.

Goodwell Baptist Church is a loving family with Christ at its head and the Bible as our guide.  God has blessed us with friends of all ages.  In our busy world, it is a special blessing to have so many young working families able to attend regularly.  We are very fortunate to have an opportunity to tell many little children each Sunday about Jesus.  These good little children put a smile on all of our faces.  We are thankful for our unity and are optimistic about our church's future.

We welcome you to all of our services.
